Accessing Your OSGrid Island HOW TO

Tags:   [+]

Congrats on getting an Island on your name with a custom message too!
To access the Island you will need
an user account in OSGrid, and a OSGrid compatible viewer. Your SecondLife viewer will suffice.

If you are using any other client you are too advanced Virtual World Soul! You dont need instructions anyway.

The twitter message acknowledging the Island creation will mention the Island Name.

This will be same as your Name in Twitter with last 4 digits of the twitter message id added to it.
Easy Way to Access1: Login to OSGrid, Just search for this Island in the 'Map' and then Teleport there!
Easy Way to Access2: Just search for this Island in the OSGrid initial  login screen. Bit of scrolling involved.
Easy Way to Access3:  Copy paste the Island Name on to the  'Start Location' field on OSGrid login screen.

Command Line Way

The twitter ack message will also have the --url which is to be appended as the last command line parameter while invoking the viewer. For example if your Twitter message has
--url secondlife://Your Name1234/43/143/43
[Note: In case your message is truncated, you can figure out the url. The /43/143/43 can be any number. Getting the name part of the url right is the key]
Then your commandline parameters for the viewer will be

-loginuri http://osgrid.org:8002 -loginpage http://osgrid.org/loginscreen.php  -helperuri http://osgrid.org/
--url secondlife://Your Name Island1234/43/143/43

To make it easy for copy paste the command line parameter without the --url is:

-loginuri http://osgrid.org:8002 -loginpage http://osgrid.org/loginscreen.php  -helperuri http://osgrid.org/

Check the OSGrid website for more details.
